San Pedro de Jujuy is the province’s second city and the sugar-mill city: National Route 34, linking Salta with the Bolivian border, and Route 56 towards Libertador General San Martín cross it with cane trucks at harvest, citrus and vegetable transport, and a city that moves by motorcycle. Municipal fines are issued by the city; route fines are issued by the province and coexist on the same plates.

Context and authority

The framework is the National Traffic Law 24.449, which Jujuy adheres to: fixed units, two-year limitation for minor offences and five for serious ones. The municipal misdemeanour court rules on fines issued within the municipality; route fines and those of the provincial authority are explained in the Jujuy article.

The municipal misdemeanour court rules on fines issued within the city: helmets, seat belts and documents at municipal checks, speeding on the access avenues and the urban stretch of Route 34, and parking downtown. A defence is filed with the court within the period set by the notice; fines on Route 34 outside the town limits are issued by the province, as the Jujuy article describes.

What the API returns for this jurisdiction

A plate lookup in San Pedro de Jujuy walks the San Pedro de Jujuy municipal misdemeanour court together with the integrated provincial sources of Jujuy, and returns each fine with the authority that issued it:

  • The authority that issued the fine and its number, unnormalised.
  • The date and description of the infraction, with the location if the court reports it.
  • The amount and status current at the source, with the payment conditions it publishes.
  • The link to the payment slip when the authority offers one.
  • Which sources answered and which did not, to tell a complete result from a partial one.

How to check a plate in San Pedro de Jujuy

Manual verification starts at the San Pedro de Jujuy municipal portal, continues through the provincial circuit of the Jujuy article and ends at the ANSV national lookup. That round, repeated for every plate, is what the API replaces: one lookup per plate across the integrated sources, with the result per source so you know what was verified.

What to watch if you run a fleet in San Pedro de Jujuy

A cane truck going from the fields to the mill at harvest crosses the urban stretch of Route 34 several times a day, and municipal speeding and load fines pile up on plates that rotate among drivers; looking up each plate at the close of the harvest and thirty days later, with the per-source result stored, assigns each fine to the driver and covers the defence in time.

For a motorcycle delivery company or an urban service fleet, helmet and document fines fall on the rider; a monthly plate lookup, with the result stored, lets you deduct them from the right person before they pile up on the company’s plate.

How to integrate

Each plate is sent in a POST, with the jurisdictions to include if you do not want to query all of them. The response accepts the job and the result is retrieved by status lookup or arrives by webhook once the sources finish answering. The vehicle lookup quality guide explains how to handle partial results and the API page details access.

Limits and considerations

  • Fines on national and provincial routes outside the town limits are not municipal; the response names the authority of each.
  • Fixed-unit amounts are converted at the value current at the source; the final amount is set by the authority at the time of payment.
  • A source that does not answer is reported as such, never as an absence of infractions.
  • The API neither pays fines nor handles defences; it delivers information to decide.
