Neuquén city and Plottier form a single urban area at the confluence of the Limay and Neuquén rivers, the gateway to Vaca Muerta: National Route 22 and the Multitrocha cross them towards the Alto Valle, Route 7 climbs to Centenario and the oil fields, and thousands of oil-service pickups, trucks and regional cars cross the boundary between the two municipalities every day. Municipal fines are issued by each city; route fines are issued by the province and coexist on the same plates.
Context and authority
Like every municipality in Neuquén, it applies the National Traffic Law 24.449 through the provincial adhesion: fixed-unit amounts, a two-year limitation for minor offences and five for serious ones, and a defence before the court that issued the fine. Provincial fines are covered in the Neuquén article.
The Neuquén and Plottier municipal misdemeanour courts rule on fines issued within each city: speeding and red lights on the camera avenues, metered parking in downtown Neuquén and lanes and manoeuvres at the approaches to Route 22 and the Multitrocha. A defence is filed with the court that issued the fine; fines on Routes 22 and 7 outside the town limits are not municipal.
What the API returns for this jurisdiction
In Neuquén and Plottier the API queries the Neuquén and Plottier municipal misdemeanour courts and, in the same lookup, the other integrated sources of Neuquén; it returns each fine with the authority that issued it:
- Authority and fine number exactly as each court publishes them.
- Date, location when reported and description of the infraction.
- Amount, status and payment conditions published by that court.
- Downloadable payment slip when one exists.
- Coverage per source and partial-result flag.
How to check a plate in Neuquén and Plottier
To check a plate by hand there are three places: the Neuquén city municipal portal for municipal fines, the provincial circuit described in the Neuquén article and the ANSV national lookup for fines loaded into the national system. With ten vehicles that is enough; with a hundred, the API walks every integrated source by plate and returns the result split by authority.
What to watch if you run a fleet in Neuquén and Plottier
An oil-service pickup sleeps in Plottier, crosses Neuquén along Route 22 and climbs to the oil fields along Route 7 every day: three different authorities can issue against the same plate on a single journey, and each publishes at its own pace. Looking up each plate at month end, with the per-source result stored, assigns each fine to the driver on shift and covers the defence in time.
For a company with hundreds of pickups rotating between bases and contracts, a fine that shows up when renewing the technical inspection no longer allows a defence; a monthly plate lookup, read per source, separates Neuquén fines, Plottier fines and provincial route fines.
How to integrate
Each plate is sent in a POST, with the jurisdictions to include if you do not want to query all of them. The response accepts the job and the result is retrieved by status lookup or arrives by webhook once the sources finish answering. The vehicle lookup quality guide explains how to handle partial results and the API page details access.

}Limits and considerations
- Fines on national and provincial routes outside the town limits are not municipal; the response names the authority of each.
- Fixed-unit amounts are converted at the value current at the source; the final amount is set by the authority at the time of payment.
- A source that does not answer is reported as such, never as an absence of infractions.
- The API neither pays fines nor handles defences; it delivers information to decide.
