Córdoba city is the country’s second city and the centre of a province with two very different fine circuits: the municipal one, with metered parking, exclusive lanes and cameras on the avenues of downtown and Nueva Córdoba, and the provincial one of the Policía Caminera on the ring road and the routes. Municipal fines are issued by the city; provincial ones coexist on the same plates.

Context and authority

Amounts and deadlines follow the National Traffic Law 24.449 and Córdoba’s adhesion: fixed units, a two-year limitation for minor offences and five for serious ones, a defence before the authority that issued the fine. This article covers municipal fines; the provincial circuit is in the Córdoba article.

The Municipal Administrative Misdemeanour Court rules on the city’s fines: metered and prohibited parking, exclusive lanes, and speeding and red lights on the avenues with cameras. A defence is filed with the court within the period set by the notice; fines on the ring road and the routes are issued by the provincial Policía Caminera.

What the API returns for this jurisdiction

A plate lookup in Córdoba city walks the Córdoba city Municipal Administrative Misdemeanour Court together with the integrated provincial sources of Córdoba, and returns each fine with the authority that issued it:

  • The authority that issued the fine and its number, unnormalised.
  • The date and description of the infraction, with the location if the court reports it.
  • The amount and status current at the source, with the payment conditions it publishes.
  • The link to the payment slip when the authority offers one.
  • Which sources answered and which did not, to tell a complete result from a partial one.

Neither lookups with a fine nor voluntary payment for Córdoba city reached the publication floor of the data methodology; the sample of fines observed is between one hundred and five hundred. Four out of five municipal fines are for parking; the rest is split among minor categories. The contrast with the Policía Caminera, where speeding dominates, is the province’s main feature.

The median amount band is ARS 50,000 – ARS 100,000, among the lowest we publish, and the median age of open fines is 200 days, also among the shortest: Córdoba’s municipal fines are cheap and get resolved quickly.

Case study: fleets that look up plates in Córdoba city

Distinct plates looked up by fleets

The fleet cohort, 50 accounts with twenty or more plates and 2,040 plates in total, had fewer than fifty lookups with a Córdoba city fine, the floor the data methodology requires to publish a share; the figure exists, but it is not published below that threshold.

For an urban fleet in Córdoba, the municipal risk is small and predictable: parking. The expensive risk is on the ring road, and the same plate lookup returns both separately; looking up at month end, with the per-source result stored, settles both circuits with a single call.

How to integrate

Each plate is sent in a POST, with the jurisdictions to include if you do not want to query all of them. The response accepts the job and the result is retrieved by status lookup or arrives by webhook once the sources finish answering. The vehicle lookup quality guide explains how to handle partial results and the API page details access.

Read the result per source: the municipal court and the provincial source answer separately, and the partial-result flag says whether any failed to answer. The vehicle lookup quality guide explains how to handle that case.

Limits and considerations

  • The seasonality of municipal fines did not reach the publication floor; it is not published.
  • Fixed-unit amounts are converted at the value current at the source; the final amount is set by the authority at the time of payment.
  • Proprietary data comes from user lookups, not from a registry: the share of fines is skewed towards suspect plates.
  • A source that does not answer is reported as such, never as an absence of infractions.
  • The API neither pays fines nor handles defences; it delivers information to decide.
