Cañuelas is the partido where the Ezeiza–Cañuelas motorway ends and Route 3 southwards and Route 205 westwards begin, crossed by Route 6: dairy farms, the livestock market that replaced Liniers, the industrial park and the villages of Uribelarrea and Máximo Paz move cattle, milk and cargo trucks coming from all over the country. Municipal fines are issued by the partido; route and provincial fines coexist on the same plates.

Context and authority

Amounts and deadlines follow the National Traffic Law 24.449 and Buenos Aires’s adhesion: fixed units, a two-year limitation for minor offences and five for serious ones, a defence before the authority that issued the fine. This article covers municipal fines; the provincial circuit is in the Buenos Aires article.

The municipal misdemeanour court rules on fines issued within the partido: speeding and red lights on the access avenues and the urban stretch of Route 205, lanes and manoeuvres at the livestock market approaches and parking downtown. A defence is filed with the court within the period set by the notice; fines on the motorway and on Routes 3, 6 and 205 outside the town limits are not municipal.

What the API returns for this jurisdiction

A plate lookup in Cañuelas walks the Cañuelas municipal misdemeanour court together with the integrated provincial sources of Buenos Aires, and returns each fine with the authority that issued it:

  • Authority and fine number exactly as each court publishes them.
  • Date, location when reported and description of the infraction.
  • Amount, status and payment conditions published by that court.
  • Downloadable payment slip when one exists.
  • Coverage per source and partial-result flag.

How to check a plate in Cañuelas

Manual verification starts at the Cañuelas municipal portal, continues through the provincial circuit of the Buenos Aires article and ends at the ANSV national lookup. That round, repeated for every plate, is what the API replaces: one lookup per plate across the integrated sources, with the result per source so you know what was verified.

What to watch if you run a fleet in Cañuelas

A cattle truck arriving at the livestock market from another province receives the Cañuelas fine weeks later at the owner’s address, when it has already made several more trips; looking up the plate after each trip to the market, with the per-source result stored, assigns the fine to the driver and collects the discount before the court rules.

For a milk or rural delivery fleet working the partido’s dairy farms, the fines are for speeding on the Route 205 urban stretch and for manoeuvres at the access roads; a monthly plate lookup avoids discovering them all at once when renewing the technical inspection.

How to integrate

Each plate is sent in a POST, with the jurisdictions to include if you do not want to query all of them. The response accepts the job and the result is retrieved by status lookup or arrives by webhook once the sources finish answering. The vehicle lookup quality guide explains how to handle partial results and the API page details access.

Limits and considerations

  • Fines on the Ezeiza–Cañuelas motorway and on Routes 3, 6 and 205 outside the town limits belong to the concessionaire, the province or the nation; the response names the authority of each.
  • Fixed-unit amounts are converted at the value current at the source; the final amount is set by the authority at the time of payment.
  • A source that does not answer is reported as such, never as an absence of infractions.
  • The API neither pays fines nor handles defences; it delivers information to decide.
