# Traffic fines in Tres de Febrero: authorities, deadlines and API lookups

How traffic fines work in Tres de Febrero, from the General Paz to San Martín avenue and the Camino del Buen Ayre, and how an industrial fleet queries them by plate with the API.

Jurisdiction

Tres de Febrero (Buenos Aires) · [Buenos Aires](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/traffic-fines-buenos-aires-province/) · Argentina

Tres de Febrero is an industrial and residential partido in the west, next to the General Paz: Caseros, Ciudadela, Sáenz Peña, Santos Lugares and Villa Bosch are connected by San Martín avenue (Route 8), Márquez avenue and the Camino del Buen Ayre, with factories and warehouses moving trucks and vans between the City and the west. Municipal fines are issued by the partido on avenues and camera-equipped traffic lights; provincial ones coexist on the same plates.

## Context and authority

Like every partido in Buenos Aires, it applies the [National Traffic Law 24.449](https://www.argentina.gob.ar/normativa/nacional/ley-24449-818/texto) through the provincial adhesion: fixed-unit amounts, a two-year limitation for minor offences and five for serious ones, and a defence before the court that issued the fine. Provincial fines are covered in the [Buenos Aires article](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/traffic-fines-buenos-aires-province/).

The municipal misdemeanour court rules on fines issued within the partido: speeding and red lights on San Martín and Márquez avenues and at camera-equipped crossings, lanes and manoeuvres at the General Paz approaches and parking in downtown Caseros. A defence is filed with the court within the period set by the notice; General Paz and Camino del Buen Ayre fines are not municipal.

## What the API returns for this jurisdiction

In Tres de Febrero the API queries the Tres de Febrero municipal misdemeanour court and, in the same lookup, the other integrated sources of Buenos Aires; it returns each fine with the authority that issued it:

- The authority that issued the fine and its number, unnormalised.
- The date and description of the infraction, with the location if the court reports it.
- The amount and status current at the source, with the payment conditions it publishes.
- The link to the payment slip when the authority offers one.
- Which sources answered and which did not, to tell a complete result from a partial one.

A result with no fines at the municipal court does not rule out provincial fines on the same plate; the response reports which sources were queried and which answered.

## How to check a plate in Tres de Febrero

To check a plate by hand there are three places: the [Tres de Febrero municipal portal](https://www.tresdefebrero.gov.ar/) for municipal fines, the provincial circuit described in the [Buenos Aires article](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/traffic-fines-buenos-aires-province/) and the [ANSV national lookup](https://consultainfracciones.seguridadvial.gob.ar/) for fines loaded into the national system. With ten vehicles that is enough; with a hundred, the API walks every integrated source by plate and returns the result split by authority.

## What to watch if you run a fleet in Tres de Febrero

A factory or warehouse in Villa Bosch or Caseros with its own trucks sends them onto San Martín avenue and the General Paz several times a day; municipal and City fines pile up on the same plates. Looking up each plate at month end, with the per-source result stored, assigns each fine to the right route and covers the defence in time.

For a service company whose technicians go in and out of the City through Ciudadela, the municipal red-light fine shows up weeks later at the owner’s address; a monthly plate lookup avoids discovering them all at once when renewing the technical inspection.

## How to integrate

A lookup is a POST with the plate and, optionally, the jurisdictions to include; the initial response accepts the job and the result arrives by status lookup or webhook, because official sources answer in seconds or minutes. The [asynchronous APIs](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/asynchronous-api-retries-without-duplicate-work/) guide explains how to retry without duplicating work and the [API page](https://apinitro.com/en/apis/traffic-fines-argentina/) details access.

JSONIllustrative example, not a contract.

```json
{
  "plate": "ABC123",
  "jurisdictions": [
    "AR-B-tres-de-febrero"
  ]
}
```

## Limits and considerations

- General Paz fines belong to the City and Camino del Buen Ayre fines to the province, not the municipality; the response names the authority of each.
- Fixed-unit amounts are converted at the value current at the source; the final amount is set by the authority at the time of payment.
- A source that does not answer is reported as such, never as an absence of infractions.
- The API neither pays fines nor handles defences; it delivers information to decide.
