Traffic in the cities depends on the state, and plate renewal requires having no debts. ## Context and authorities As in the rest of the country, traffic fines are administrative sanctions set in UMA by the state regulation, with a discount for timely payment in many entities and surcharges once overdue; pending debts block vehicle procedures. For local procedures and rules, the starting point is the [Sinaloa State Government portal](https://sinaloa.gob.mx/). The state’s Dirección de Vialidad y Transportes issues infractions in Culiacán, Mazatlán, Los Mochis and on state highways, and the Secretaría de Administración y Finanzas collects vehicle debts together with plate renewal. Clarifications are filed with the authority that recorded the infraction, within the period set by the notice. ## What the API returns for this entity In Sinaloa the API queries Sinaloa’s state plate lookup for infractions and returns each infraction with the authority that recorded it: - The authority that recorded the infraction and its folio, unnormalised. - The date and reason, with the location if the source reports it. - The amount and status current at the source, with the discounts it publishes. - The payment reference when the authority offers one. - Which sources answered and which did not, to tell a complete result from a partial one. The response splits the result by source and the partial-result flag shows whether any failed to answer: read it per authority, not as a national total. ## How to check a plate in Sinaloa To check a plate by hand, the [Sinaloa State Government portal](https://sinaloa.gob.mx/) is the entity’s official channel and the [REPUVE](https://www.gob.mx/sesnsp) confirms the vehicle’s identity before any procedure. With ten units that is enough; with a hundred, the API walks the integrated sources by plate and returns the result split by authority, with the folio and amount each one publishes. ## What to watch if you run a fleet in Sinaloa A produce fleet leaving Culiacán for Nogales in season crosses highway 15 with state and federal checks on every trip, and infractions pile up on plates that rotate among operators; looking up each plate at the close of the season and thirty days later, with the per-source result stored, assigns each infraction to the driver and avoids discovering them at plate renewal. For a rent-a-car or a transfer company in Mazatlán, the peak is the beach season and Carnival; checking the plate at the return of each service, with the result stored, charges the infraction to the customer who was driving instead of absorbing it at plate renewal. ## How to integrate The integration starts with one POST per plate, with the entity as an optional filter.
