Highway 200 runs along the coast and crosses the state line a few minutes from the airport, and thousands of rental cars cross it every day without noticing. Urban infractions are issued by the municipal transit offices, and those on state roads by the state police; debts are collected with the state renewal. ## Context and authorities Each entity applies its own traffic regulation and its early-payment discount calendar; amounts are set in UMA and overdue debts are collected with updates and surcharges. The link with the tenencia tax, plate renewal and verification means a forgotten infraction shows up right at the procedure. The [Nayarit Government portal](https://nayarit.gob.mx/) gathers official information. Bahía de Banderas and Tepic have their own transit offices and treasuries, with regulations and discounts different from those of Puerto Vallarta across the state line; the state police covers the state highways and the National Guard federal Highways 15 and 200. The response reports which sources were queried and which answered; for Nayarit, the official channel for vehicle debts is the state portal described below, and a result with no infractions in the integrated sources does not rule out debts recorded there. ## How to check a plate in Nayarit To check a plate by hand, the [Nayarit Government portal](https://nayarit.gob.mx/) is the entity’s official channel and the [REPUVE](https://www.gob.mx/sesnsp) confirms the vehicle’s identity before any procedure. With ten units that is enough; with a hundred, the API walks the integrated sources by plate and returns the result split by authority, with the folio and amount each one publishes. ## What to watch if you run a fleet in Nayarit A rent-a-car at Vallarta airport delivers cars with Jalisco plates that spend half the rental in Nayarit: infractions from Bahía de Banderas arrive through another channel and under another regulation, and the plate lookup at the return, with the result stored next to the contract, is the only way to charge them to the customer in time. For a hotel transport fleet crossing the state line twenty times a day, the monthly plate lookup, stored per authority, separates the infractions of the two states and assigns them to the driver on shift. ## How to integrate Each plate is sent in a POST, with the entities to include if you do not want to query all of them. The response accepts the job and the result is retrieved by status lookup or arrives by webhook once the sources finish answering.
