Jurisdiction

Malvinas Argentinas (Buenos Aires) · [Buenos Aires](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/traffic-fines-buenos-aires-province/) · Argentina

Malvinas Argentinas is a young partido of the northern suburbs, made up of Grand Bourg, Los Polvorines, Tortuguitas, Villa de Mayo, Pablo Nogués and Ingeniero Pablo Nogués around the stations of the Belgrano Norte railway. The Pilar branch of the Panamericana runs along its west and Route 197 crosses it towards San Miguel and Tigre, with industrial parks and warehouses in Tortuguitas attracting trucks and vans from the whole northern zone. Urban fines are issued by the Municipality; those on the branch and on Route 197 outside the town limits depend on the province.

## Context and authority

The framework is the [National Traffic Law 24.449](https://www.argentina.gob.ar/normativa/nacional/ley-24449-818/texto), which Buenos Aires adheres to: fixed units, two-year limitation for minor offences and five for serious ones. The municipal misdemeanour court rules on fines issued within the partido; route fines and those of the provincial authority are explained in the [Buenos Aires article](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/traffic-fines-buenos-aires-province/).

The municipal misdemeanour court rules on fines issued in the partido: speeding and red lights on the urban stretch of Route 197 and on the avenues of Grand Bourg and Los Polvorines, parking around the stations and document checks at municipal operations. A defence is filed with the court within the period set by the notice. Fines on the Pilar branch and those on Route 197 outside the town limits are provincial.

## What the API returns for this jurisdiction

In Malvinas Argentinas the API queries InfraccionesBA, the provincial registry of the Buenos Aires Ministry of Transport together with the other integrated sources of Buenos Aires and returns each fine with the authority that issued it:

- The authority that issued the fine and its number, unnormalised.
- The date and description of the infraction, with the location if the court reports it.
- The amount and status current at the source, with the payment conditions it publishes.
- The link to the payment slip when the authority offers one.
- Which sources answered and which did not, to tell a complete result from a partial one.

The response splits the result by source and the partial-result flag shows whether any failed to answer; municipal fines in Malvinas Argentinas have their own lookup channel, described below.

## How to check a plate in Malvinas Argentinas

A plate is checked by hand at the [Malvinas Argentinas Municipality portal](https://www.malvinasargentinas.gob.ar/), in the provincial sources explained in the [Buenos Aires article](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/traffic-fines-buenos-aires-province/) and at the [ANSV national lookup](https://consultainfracciones.seguridadvial.gob.ar/). The API does the same round at scale and returns each fine with the authority that issued it, so verification becomes part of the process rather than a spreadsheet.

## What to watch if you run a fleet in Malvinas Argentinas

Fleets supplying the Tortuguitas warehouses enter by the Pilar branch and leave by Route 197, and the provincial fines from that run pile up on plates registered in San Isidro, Tigre or the City. Looking up each plate at month end, with the result stored per source, lets you charge the fine to the driver on shift before the notice arrives.

For a van company rotating units between Grand Bourg, Los Polvorines and San Miguel, a plate lookup before each technical inspection expiry prevents a forgotten provincial fine from blocking the procedure.

## How to integrate

A lookup is a POST with the plate and, optionally, the jurisdictions to include; the initial response accepts the job and the result arrives by status lookup or webhook, because official sources answer in seconds or minutes. The [asynchronous APIs](https://apinitro.com/en/articles/asynchronous-api-retries-without-duplicate-work/) guide explains how to retry without duplicating work and the [API page](https://apinitro.com/en/apis/traffic-fines-argentina/) details access.

JSONIllustrative example, not a contract.

```json
{
  "plate": "ABC123",
  "jurisdictions": [
    "AR-B"
  ]
}
```

## Limits and considerations

- Provincial fines on a plate originate on routes and motorways across the whole province, not only in the partido; the response names the authority and the location when the source reports it.
- Fixed-unit amounts are converted at the value current at the source; the final amount is set by the authority at the time of payment.
- A source that does not answer is reported as such, never as an absence of infractions.
- The API neither pays fines nor handles defences; it delivers information to decide.
